About Us What is Relate?
Relate East Staffordshire is an independent charity and is affiliated to the national Relate federation. As an organisation, relate has over 60 years of experience in helping people with their relationships.
Relate East Staffordshire is located in the centre of Burton upon Trent with satellite centres throughout East Staffordshire offering
daytime and evening appointments.
We support all areas of the community, young or old, regardless of background, gender or ethnicity. You can come on your own or with your partner.

Is counselling confidential?
Relate counselling is confidential. We will not give your name or any information about you to anyone outside Relate unless someone’s personal safety is at risk.
Do Relate Counsellors have special training?
Relate counsellors have all received special training in couple counselling and various counselling subjects. It takes two to three years to become a fully qualified Relate counsellor. They undergo further training to specialise in areas such as family counselling and sex therapy.
We abide by the codes of Ethics of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. We are fully insured for professional indemnity and all of our work is professionally supervised.
What will counselling cost?
Clients with a household income of less than twenty thousand per annum (proof required) will receive up to six FREE counselling sessions. Clients earning over twenty thousand will be asked to cover our costs of £40 per appointment. All clients will be asked to pay a £10 registration fee.
